1. What brought you to the point of where you decided to get fit?
Jan 2012 was when I decided to take my fitness to the next level and achieve my impossible.  I set my first big fitness goal… bikini competition.  What better motivation than knowing you would be walking on stage in a tiny bikini in 5 in heels with other gorgeous girls to be judged? This was completely out of my comfort zone.  It was such an amazing journey from beginning to end.  I learned so much about myself mentally and physically. It was the motivation I needed to push myself and truly learn about nutrition and exercise. It built my self-confidence and made me realize I have a passion for fitness.  I know competing is not for everyone. It is life consuming and takes some major dedication, motivation, and will power. You have to find something that motivates you to push yourself and be a better person.  I strongly encourage people to step out of their comfort zone and set goals. You will have to put in work to achieve them and it won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.   Life is short and precious, live it to the fullest with no regrets!

2. What does your workout and diet consists of?
 
My workout and diet varies depending on my goals! Everybody is different. You have to know your body type and what works for you and your goals. I work with trainers that I check in with for accountability and guidance.
 
Typically, I eat 6 meals a day consisting of lean protein, vegetables, a complex carbohydrate, and minimal healthy fats. I allow myself one treat meal a week, unless prepping for something.  This helps keep my sane and helps with the cravings.  I drink a gallon of water a day, avoid sugar, get plenty of sleep (I am not always good about this), and always have food prepped. You have to be prepared to be successful at living a healthy fit lifestyle.  If you have a bad day and get off track, don’t let it get you down.   Tomorrow is a new day and you can start fresh!
 
I do 5 days a week of HIIT cardio and I lift weights 5 days a week. I used to be a complete cardio junkie, over trained and never lifted. I was what you call “skinny fat”. I had no muscle tone and my body retained so much water all the time. I always wondered why I didn’t have that toned fit look with all the working out I was doing. WOW I have learned so much in the last year. Girls don’t be afraid of lifting weights. IT increases your metabolic rate (muscle burns more energy than fat and allows you to burn more calories throughout the day), increases your strength and gives you more muscle tone, and it helps protect against injury. Don’t worry ladies…It won’t make you man-like and bulky ~ just curvy and sexy!
 
3. Pet peeves while working out?
When someone is on a machine you need forever and they don’t want to allow you to work in with them. You have to share in a public gym. 
    
4. What’s your favorite photo shoot experience? 

Shooting with Wendi Satio. It was a huge goal of mine to shoot with her because her work is absolutely amazing! IT was such a positive life experience that I will remember forever. <3 Wendi!!

5. What’s your funniest photo shoot experience?

I had a blast shooting with LHGFX~ Harry and Allen when they were here in my hometown, Houston TX. The guys got to experience shooting in Houston with rain, humidity, and fire ants and still got amazing shots.  It was a very entertaining day full of fun and laughter. I cannot wait to do it again guys <3
 
6. Any photographers you want to work with?
Oh there are too many to mention them all. Here are a few off the top of my head: Wendi Satio & Harry and Allen with LHGFX again, Lee with LHGFX, Paul Buceta, Gary Miller, Joseph Peffer,  & Ryan Dwyer.

Be a better me and continue to motivate and inspire others! I have lots of goals and dreams that I will continue to work towards…follow me and see what is next!!
